Opting for a newbuild property can lead to significant savings, with homebuyers potentially reducing their monthly expenses by up to £183, according to the latest Home Builders Federation (HBF) data.
Stagfield Group has observed a growing interest among buyers in the energy efficiency of newbuild homes. This trend is driven by both cost-saving advantages and the desire to reduce carbon footprints.
Under the updated Part L regulations, newbuild homes constructed from June 2023 onward will consume just 31% of the energy used by older properties. This translates into substantial savings for homeowners, who can redirect the extra funds.
Kevin Hard, Managing Director of Stagfield Group, noted, "We've seen a significant increase in buyers who are aware of the benefits of newbuild homes, especially the lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions. In 2023 alone, the HBF has quoted buyers of newbuild homes cut carbon emissions by 500,000 tonnes, benefiting both the environment and their finances."
Stagfield Group is committed to constructing desirable, energy-efficient homes tailored to modern lifestyles. Properties built from June 2023 onwards will benefit from the new Part L regulations, potentially saving homeowners significant annual running costs compared to older building stock.
In partnership with Peveril Homes, Stagfield Group is developing "Abbey Central" in West Bridgford, a low-energy, gas-free sustainable community featuring 71 modern homes. This development is expected to achieve a CO2 reduction of over 50%, significantly exceeding the standard building regulation target of a 19% reduction.
Rushcliffe Borough Council's Low Carbon and Sustainable Design Planning Document has recognised Abbey Central as a key case study for future sustainable housing developments in the region.
